The Goodbye Club allows our Acolytes to bid farewell to their families, friends, and previous lives before embarking on their healing and self-eradicating journeys with The Collective of the Censer. Please enjoy a sample of what our beloved Acolytes had to say.

Say Goodbye, Goldie

To my sisters at Alpha Chi Omega,

You’re probably wondering why I chose to leave school and go full no-contact with everyone. You probably think I’m crazy, but for me, the true crazy is continuing to pretend the burden of individuality while living in a broken world is life’s only option. I wish you all the best. I just wish that you experience it far away from me.

~ Goldie

Say Goodbye, Famke

To my husband Brian,

My one wish for you is that one day you experience the bliss that comes from no longer having to think about yourself, because even though you were a perfect partner, we could never truly be happy together because individual identity is the thief of real joy. Stop trying to contact me. I do not need to be rescued. You are dead to me, and I am dead to you.

~ Famke

Say Goodbye, Benicio

To anyone who previously knew me as “Dennis”:

I really did try to be a model productive citizen, husband, father, and employee. Mother Marie taught me that my borderline-neurotic dedication to living up to other people’s standards as a measure of self-worth was futile, and my god was she right.

See you never,

~ Benicio

Say Goodbye, Mary-Kate

Dear Mommy and Daddy,

I love Mother Marie and I hate you. I am so happy. I love it here. Don’t ever talk to me again for as long as you live. My name isn’t Sarah anymore. Bye-bye forever and ever.

- Mary-Kate
